Join Team EMPath for the 131st Boston Marathon!

EMPath is proud to have been awarded five bibs for the 2027 Bank of America Boston Marathon Official Charity Program! If you are interested in joining Team EMPath to run the 131st Boston Marathon presented by Bank of America, we invite you to submit an application before the October 30 deadline.
When you join Team EMPath, you join a community of people dedicated to disrupting poverty. All funds raised towards your fundraising goal will directly support EMPath families working hard to achieve upward economic mobility. We will provide detailed fundraising and training support throughout the lead up to the Marathon Monday, and we’ll be there to celebrate with you when you cross the finish line in Copley Square.
Runners on Team EMPath commit to raising a minimum of $10,000. A clear fundraising plan, ambitious fundraising goal, and a personal connection to EMPath or our mission, will help your application stand out. Please note that in 2026, nonprofit runners raised an average of almost $16,000. Applicants will be notified of their application status via email the week of November 9, 2026.
Team members will receive:
- Guaranteed entry to the 131 st Boston Marathon on April 19, 2027
- An EMPath swag bag inclusive of an EMPath Jersey to wear on Marathon Monday
- A detailed personalized fundraising page, a fundraising toolkit, and a dedicated EMPath fundraiser to assist and support your efforts.
- Optional access to a Marathon Training program
Fundraising and Fee Requirements:
- All team members must raise a minimum of $10,000 prior to the race day. In 2026, nonprofit runners raised an average of almost $16,000.
- All applicants are required to pay a $100 application fee, which will be applied to your fundraising minimum should you be selected to the team.
- Once selected all team members are responsible for the race registration fee of $375 (subject to change per the B.A.A)
Team EMPath does not cover any race registration or registration insurance fees.
