Ways to Give
Poverty is complex; caring about each other is simple.
Ways to Give
Give Online
The simplest way to support EMPath is to make a gift online. We accept credit cards, Masterpass, and Visa Checkout.
Give Offline
To give by check, please make your check out to “Economic Mobility Pathways” and mail it to us at:
308 Congress Street, 5th Floor
Boston, MA 02210
To give over the phone, please call Nicki Ruiz de Luzuriaga, Vice President of Institutional Advancement, at 617-259-2949.
Matched & Workplace Giving
Check if your company has an opportunity to donate to a charitable organization though payroll deduction. If it does, you can designate EMPath as a beneficiary on your workplace giving form.
Many companies also match employee donations. It’s an easy way to double your contribution to disrupt poverty. Check to see if your company has a matching gift program.
Monthly Giving
A monthly contribution supports our work year-round — empowering even more families to achieve economic self-sufficiency. To set up a recurring donation go to our donation page, and select “make this a monthly gift” when you fill out the online form.
Corporate Partnerships
Is your company interested in sponsorship? We are seeking sponsors for our annual Economic Independence Day event in May 2020 and our biennial Disrupting the Poverty Cycle Conference in October 2020.
We also have naming opportunities available at our Fort Point office location. For more information, contact Nicki Ruiz de Luzuriaga, Vice President of Institutional Advancement, at 617-259-2949 or nluzuriaga@empathways.org.
In-Kind Donations
Please see our in-kind donation policy here and fill out the attached form.
Planned Giving
Show your long-term commitment to disrupting poverty. It’s a gift that costs you nothing now, is flexible, and can often be easily established through a new will, trust, or amendment. For more information, click here.
Stock Gifts
A gift of stock will help our scaling initiatives and may alleviate your tax burden. Please consult your financial advisor if the stock has appreciated or depreciated in value since you acquired it. EMPath’s banking information is below. Please notify EMPath’s Institutional Advancement department (617-259-2962) in advance of your stock transfer so that proper acknowledgement may be made.

Why you should give and what your dollars do.
Why give to EMPath?
We’re supporting people to maximize their potential and feel empowered to achieve economic independence. Our economic mobility coaching model is based on the impact that stress can have on our focus, memory, organizational skills, and future-oriented thinking. We take a comprehensive approach, because a person is more likely to achieve economic independence if they look across all areas of life rather than tackling one area alone.
Our model actually works. And organizations across the globe are adapting and implementing it for their own work.
What do my dollars do?
- Many EMPath programs are funded by government contracts — emergency shelters like Hastings House are operated in accordance with the Commonwealth
- Certain long-term programs like Career Family Opportunity and Intergen are funded solely by philanthropic giving and individual donations
- Some money raised annually is allocated to emergency shelter programs for services and events above and beyond what is required by state statute
- A donation to EMPath allows freedom in our budget for mentors and administrative staff to have the resources they need to best support participants
Are donations tax-deductible?
Donations are tax-deductible within the guidelines of U.S. law. EMPath is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. Our tax ID / EIN is 04-2104046. For gifts made online, keep your email receipt as your official record to claim your donation as a deduction on your taxes. For gifts made offline by donors living in the U.S. and who provide a mailing address, you will receive a donation receipt by postal mail.
