Membership Frequently Asked Questions

What membership levels does the Exchange offer?

  • Level One (Learning Member): Designed for organizations not yet ready to implement, but who are interested in developing an understanding of the Mobility Mentoring model and learning from and connecting with other Exchange member organizations.
  • Level Two (Mobility Mentoring Informed Practitioner): Designed specifically for organizations that are implementing or ready to implement a Mobility Mentoring informed model. Level Two members work with the Exchange to track and share programmatic outcomes.
  • Level Three (Certified Mobility Mentoring Organization): Designed for Level Two organizations who have experience implementing a Mobility Mentoring informed model and who wish to be certified by EMPath as delivering Mobility Mentoring services. Level Three membership includes replicating the Mobility Mentoring model to fidelity and working with the Exchange to track and share programmatic outcomes.

Why is the membership cost dependent on the number of participants served?

To provide organizations with the in-depth support conducive to implementing a Mobility Mentoring informed model on a larger scale, EMPath licenses use of the Mobility Mentoring model and tools based on the number of participants served. In an effort to keep membership costs attainable, as the number of participants served using a Mobility Mentoring informed model increases, the license will expand at a lower cost per participant.

What does auto-renewal mean for my membership?

Auto-renewal is applicable to all levels of membership. If you renew your membership, and pay online with a credit card, your membership will now auto-renew. Memberships will not auto-renew if you defer payment and request an invoice.

Auto-renewal will occur the day your membership expires. If you wish to cancel your membership, you must inform your Exchange Contact at least 30 days prior to your membership’s expiration date.

What if my organization decides to implement a Mobility Mentoring informed model after joining as a Level One member?

We understand the decision to implement a new model of service delivery can be challenging and requires a great deal of consideration. If your organization decides to implement a Mobility Mentoring informed model in the middle of your Level One membership term, the Exchange team will be happy to support your organization through this transition. We will work with you to adjust your membership level and prorate pricing accordingly.

What is the annual cost for each level of membership?

Starting FY24 (July 1, 2023):

Level One pricing is $800 for nonprofit direct service providers and $4,000 for government agencies, community networks, foundations, and institutions of higher education.

Level Two and Level Three pricing is based on the number of participants served with a Mobility Mentoring informed model.

Level Two pricing starts at $2,000 for nonprofit direct service providers and $6,000 for government agencies, community networks, foundations, and institutions of higher education.

Level Three organizations' annual membership fee is waived. There are additional costs associated with Level Three certification including an initial application fee, onsite review (plus travel costs), and a recertification fee every five years. For detailed pricing information regarding these fees, please email us at theexchange@empathways.org.

For detailed pricing information, please see the Levels & Pricing section above.

Does my organization have to implement a Mobility Mentoring informed model to join as a Level Two member?

Yes. Level Two membership is available only to those organizations currently implementing or ready to implement a Mobility Mentoring® informed model.

What are the benefits for each level of membership?

For detailed information on the benefits included with each membership level, please see the Levels & Pricing section above.

How do I access Exchange Membership Benefits & Resources?

All members will receive monthly email newsletters about Mobility Mentoring, regular contact with a knowledgeable Exchange staff, & access to our monthly webinars. Further benefits & resources for Exchange members are partitioned by your level of membership. Level One (Learning) Members will have access to our Member Portal, including limited tools & resources. Level Two and Three Members will have access to subgroups & workgroups and our online Member Portal, including all tools & resources for implementing Mobility Mentoring-informed work, networking, & discussion groups. Level Two and Three Members will also have exclusive access to Engage@EMPath, our online learning platform, where they can access Mobility Mentoring Foundations (our initial training in Mobility Mentoring), Mobility Mentoring-Informed Supervision, our course for supervisors of coaches, and more to come in the future.

What is Engage@EMPath?

Engage@EMPath is EMPath’s new Learning Management System (LMS). A Learning Management System is a software application used to deliver educational courses or training programs. As of July 2023, we offer two courses: Mobility Mentoring Foundations & Mobility Mentoring-Informed Supervision. Mobility Mentoring Foundations is designed for members to see Mobility Mentoring in action, reflect on what they have seen, learn about the intentional practice, and prepare to put it to practice. Mobility Mentoring-Informed Supervision will focus on supervision as a parallel process with engaging readings and videos to show supervisory meetings and discussion boards to learn from others in the course. We will be releasing microcourses on the Bridge pillars in the future.

What outcomes and data will my organization share with the Exchange?

Exchange members are expected to contribute to the shared learning with the network. Currently, this takes the form of our annual member survey, focusing on implementation process questions & member satisfaction. Level 2 & 3 members who have been implementing for at least one year are expected to submit outcomes data annually to our Research & Evaluation (R&E) team. A full list of required data points as well as data collection tip sheets are located in the Outcomes Data group on the Exchange Portal. We provide two consultation sessions with R&E to assist Level 2 & 3 members in building their data collection & analysis tools. For further information, please contact us at theexchange@empathways.org.

How is my organization able to use EMPath’s trademarked terms?

Mobility Mentoring® and The Bridge to Self-Sufficiency® are registered trademarks of Economic Mobility Pathways. Trademarks symbolize the quality and excellence of the products and services that EMPath and Exchange members provide and help maintain our collective reputation among our partners and competitors. To avoid loss of these values, trademarks must be used correctly.
