Join EMPath for our first-ever Disrupting Poverty DC Action Summit to advocate for bold change towards economic prosperity!

This two-day event will bring together our community of staff, families in our programs, members of our Economic Mobility Exchange learning network, key collaborators, and the public to learn together and advocate for policies that advance economic mobility. 

Rough agenda (to be finalized in the coming months):

  • Day 1: Tour of Congress in the morning. Sessions in the afternoon, including policy panels, media/social media advocacy workshops, and Exchange member/participant panels 
  • Day 2: Kickoff prep session with tips for elevating issues with elected officials + individual meetings with your representatives and/or senators 

The summit is open to all! Registration is currently open only to Exchange members and their program participants at a discount.

DC Action Summit: FAQ

What is the Disrupting Poverty DC Action Summit?

The Disrupting Poverty DC Action Summit is a two-day event designed to unite the EMPath community of staff, program participants, members of the Economic Mobility Exchange learning network, key collaborators, and the public to learn together and advocate for policies that advance economic mobility.

Who can attend the Disrupting Poverty DC Action Summit?

The summit is open to all! Members of EMPath’s Economic Mobility Exchange learning network will receive a discount.  

Will transportation be provided?

No. Attendees are responsible for arranging their own transportation. DC has an extensive Metro system. The closest stations to Capitol Hill are the Capitol Hill South Station (Blue/Orange line) or Union Station (Red line).

Is there a registration fee for the summit?

Yes. $95 for Exchange members. $125 for public. 

Is there a registration deadline?

Registration closes 4/4/25.

Are there scholarships available?

No.

Will there be meals provided?

Yes. Lunch will be provided at the event space on May 7th and breakfast will be provided on May 8th. Please note any dietary restrictions in the space provided in your registration.

Will there be opportunities to meet with Congressional Members?

Yes, participants will have the chance to meet with at least 1-2 members of Congress and 1-2 Senators on the second day of the summit.

Can I receive any support in coordinating meetings with my Congressional Members?

Yes, EMPath Advocacy staff will help you plan and prepare for your meetings.
