Realizing the 2-gen Potential of Early Childhood Programs by Integrating Economic Mobility Coaching

6 June 2023

In the early childhood sector, there is a growing understanding of the ways in which poverty can impact children’s development, creating persistent gaps between children raised in poverty and their higher-income peers.

EMPath’s latest paper, “Moving the Whole Family Ahead: Realizing the 2-gen Potential of Early Childhood Programs by Integrating Economic Mobility Coaching,” makes the compelling case to early childhood programs across the U.S. – particularly those whose mission is to support kids living in poverty – to integrate economic mobility coaching for parents to strengthen outcomes for kids.

Many early childhood programs across the country have already seen success with this approach, including organizations that have turned to EMPath over the years to learn about and integrate our research-backed Mobility Mentoring® coaching model to effectively build skills and help parents to meaningfully get ahead.
