2020 Census: What You Need to Know
Feb 28, 2020
Responding to the Census is easy and confidential. It's also critical — Census data determines federal and state funding for many programs and services including SNAP, Section 8 Housing, Title I Grants, health clinics, fire departments, roads and highways, and more.
Between March 12-20, 2020, homes across the country will begin receiving invitations to complete the 2020 Census. Once the invitation arrives, you should respond for your home in one of three ways: online, by phone, or by mail.
Your response matters. Census results help determine how billions of dollars in federal funding flow into states and communities each year, and determine how many seats in the House of Representatives each state gets.
The 2020 Census will NOT ask about immigration or citizenship.
