6/9: Strategies and Concerns for Eventually Shifting from Remote to In-Person Work
What boundaries have you put in place that are helpful?
- Team created and shared schedule of when people are working remotely vs. in the office and their work hours
- Set routines to differentiate work time and home time
- Make a daily schedule with family (include time together in the schedule!)
- Team established expectation to not send anything before 8 am, not expect immediate responses (but have a policy of responding within 24 hours)
- Clear communication with people in the same house to respect each other’s workspaces and meeting times
- Working more split shifts to manage childcare
- Keeping to the same schedule as if working in the office and physically leaving the workspace for breaks and lunch
How are you setting boundaries with your family for self-care?
- Traffic light (red: cannot interrupt; orange: if it’s very important; green: available)
- Setting expectations to check-in with each other before/after meetings
