How do you do goal setting now? Any successful strategies?
- Keep up the process of goal setting – might focus on setting “low-hanging fruit” goals to keep up momentum
- Leaning more on email; finding time to talk on the phone in peace with kids at home can be difficult
How to recalibrate goals?
- Original major goals are not attainable right now
- Recognize that priorities have shifted
- Just because goals are on hold, doesn’t negate the work you’ve done already Ex) short term: setting time to do yoga and monitoring news intake Ex) long term: original goal was to join a gym and build up swimming endurance so shifting the action steps to doing exercises they can do at home Ex) Goals about researching what resources are available (mentors helping more because resources are complex and constantly changing)
- Switch to shorter term goals in crisis-mode
- Set a goal that seems reasonable given the circumstances – flexibility is key!
